The Campaign Continues

>> Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Conor Brennan, VP of the LFCNY, has done an interview with The Empire of the Kop website. If you've been following the campaign and my stories concerning Cohen and World Soccer Daily, I suggest you head over and check it out.

Conor, the Anti-Cohen campaign seems to be quiet right now? Is this because of the off-season and people are on holiday?

Not really but I can see how you might get that impression; since the start of this campaign we have dealt with 14 advertisers of Steven Cohen. Of that number, 6 have left World Soccer Daily, 5 have stayed with him and he has found 3 new ones. We have removed over half his original sponsors. He has lost his biggest advertisers – Heineken, FourFourTwo, Ruffneck Scarves and World Soccer Shop. So we view that as a success.

You can read the full interviewHERE.

Yes, an Evertonian is suggesting you visit a Liverpool site. :-)

What a tool. This isn't a matter of national safety like you are making it out to be. Again way too much time on your hands. Get over yourself. You obviously were the last picked on the playground and you are turning any progress with football in the US backwards..All because you clearly didn't understand what was being said. Do you really think a small little man from an internet radio station really blames the fans...

So, which LFC boycott has been less effective? The Sun boycott or the WSD boycott?

I'm going to say the WSD boycott as the show seems to have had no trouble replacing the sponsors they lost and football has received a huge boost in this nation with the Confed Cup driving more interest and sponsors to the show. At least there was some tangible financial effect by the Sun boycott. The WSD boycott has been an exercise in pathetic futility.
